Candidate for Kenosha County Board Supervisor – District 13

Dan McKnight

Accountable Leadership. Stronger Communities.

My name is Dan McKnight, and I am honored to be a candidate for the District 13 County Board Supervisor in Kenosha County. I’m a dedicated community member with deep roots in Kenosha and am committed to ensuring that every resident has a voice in the decisions that shape our neighborhoods. My mission is to establish a more direct link between our local government and the needs of every resident and local business while serving them with integrity and accountability.

I currently work as a sales manager of a large reputable automotive dealership that serves the community of Kenosha as well as various neighboring cities in Southeast Wisconsin. I have been blessed with a long career in the Automotive Industry with over 20 years of experience. I have had the privilege of partnering closely with community members to provide fair and transparent support, build responsive customer service relationships, and consistently deliver quality products. Team leadership, collaboration, conflict resolution, budgeting, meeting deadlines, and exceeding expectations, have been constant since the beginning of my career. I believe these real-life experiences have equipped me to be able to make practical, informed decisions on behalf of District 13.

My belief in our great city of Kenosha has grown over the last 25 years. I believe my goals align with its mission to enhance the community, create a dynamic economy, and deliver high-quality services to improve the health, safety, and quality of life for its residents.

I first moved to Kenosha as a teenager in 2000 where I graduated from Bradford High School in 2001. I developed a strong sense of dedication and civic responsibility from an early age. Growing up in a hardworking family, I witnessed firsthand the importance of community support, hard work, and standing up for what's right. These values continue to guide my vision for local leadership today.

My family and I have been a part of our district since 2018. My wife Sarah, two sons Kaden and Brennan, and I deeply appreciate all the things this district and our city have to offer. From the small businesses and Harbor Market that provide amazing services, to the restaurants and festivals, to the parks and schools, we value Kenosha as our home. In my free time, I enjoy baseball, music of all genres, cookouts and bonfires, home projects, and most importantly time with my family and friends. My desire to protect the beauty and integrity of our community and the people that reside within it, drives me to pursue this position.

My journey with the Kenosha County Board began Fall of 2019, when I realized the incessant desire to do more for my community by giving back more of myself. From early January until mid-March 2020, my wife, Sarah, and I knocked on doors and met as many of our neighbors as possible. I took the time in those interactions to express my desire to be a voice for our community. The unimaginable changes that ensued near the end of the campaign season, shook our community, our homes, and our nation. As many events, life experiences, and expectations ended abruptly in March of 2020, so did my journey to the County Board. Recent events have propelled me to step back into the journey and offer what I have to our great community.

Thank you for considering my candidacy. I am excited about the opportunity to serve as Kenosha County Board Supervisor. I am ready to bring principled leadership and focus to the Kenosha County Board. With your support, I will fight for transparency, fiscal accountability, and local government that represents the people of District 13. I look forward to the possibility of contributing my skills and passion to our shared success.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
